And it begins...

Hello everyone. So it's been quite some time since I last posted. I just haven't felt inspired to write about anything, although quite a lot has happened within the past couple months. Starting off the month of April, my Man-Candy got sick over Easter, and then I proceeded to get sick the week after. Damn germs. This left me highly unmotivated to work out or do much of anything for that matter before we left for our Florida vacation. It also caused me to miss Lulu's birthday party, which I was most upset about.

Anyways, we got well in time for Florida, which is a good thing. We ended up renting a car to drive down rather than put the miles and wear and tear on our own whips. The rental car we ended up getting was a brand new, black Dodge Charger, which let me tell you was friggin awesome. I don't usually speed much when driving in my own bumblebee, but thanks to the good old Charger, we were cruising right along on the way down and back. The first part of our trip was going to a condo in Daytona Beach, which we also went to last year. Our first two days held gorgeous weather for us, so we pretty much just laid out and got crispy. The third day was a little overcast and rainy so we tooled around Daytona and did some sightseeing. That Monday and Tuesday we went to Disney World which I will say, was just as amazing if not more than I remembered it. The last time I was there, I think I was 11 or 12, so of course many things have changed, and this time I wasn't afraid to ride the rides. Except for the Tower of Terror. I wouldn't ride that. Sorry. Call me lame, but I hate those drop rides. D and I agreed that probably the best ride was Aerosmith's Rockin Rollercoaster at Hollywood Studios. It was an indoor rollercoaster with music blasting, that launches you from 0-60 mph in something like 3 seconds or some craziness like that. Space Mountain was sweet, and of course we ended up in the front of the log on Splash Mountain, so needless to say we were probably soaked for an hour. Wet shorts suck. Wet clothes in general are a pet peeve of mine. Anyways, we kicked ass at seeing and riding everything we had intended to. We made it to all 4 parks in 2 days. We even managed to catch the fireworks show, Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, at the Magic Kingdom, which I think may be my favorite park. We stayed at the Port Orleans-Riverside Resort - just for one night. It was extremely nice and clean, and very moderately priced...for Disney. I think the longest line we waited in was 55 minutes so we did really well. Although, I know it wasn't technically "really" crowded, it was still packed. *Note to parents* - Watch your f-ing kids!!!! If you don't care enough to notice that they have now kicked the back of me 20 times while waiting in line for Small World, then you obviously are a bad parent, and probably will lose your kid at Disney World anyways. Unless you have one of those leash-y things of course, which I am starting to like more and more. I think D described it best: "It's like a Browns game on sugar." Well put my good sir. We walked for 14 hours the first day, and something like 12 hours the second. Needless to say, we were sore as hell. Neither of us are what you might call overly active. Or active at all if we are being honest. We left Tuesday night to go back to Daytona and made it back for the second half of the Cavs vs. Bulls game, Game number 5. Too bad that win doesn't matter now...

The rest of of our Daytona trip was relaxing and we even discovered a few new places that we will probably go back to. And by places, I mean bars. We made it home in one piece just in time for Derek and Ann's Annual Derby Party. Fun times were had by friends, family, and family friends as always, and as always Ann made a ton of great food complete with Derby pie. As I am writing this, I now realize that I totally forgot to try it. There's always next year. It took a little adjusting to get back into "work" mode after vacation, but luckily we had Becky and Shane's wedding on the agenda. The weekend after we got back from FL, the Man-Candy had Shane's bachelor party at our house. Unluckily for them it was cold and it rained on and off all day. Luckily for them, they are boys and could care less if it was below zero and a blizzard. The party was a success, or so I was told, as I retreated to Lynds and Vito's that evening.

Finally this past weekend was the wedding, which kicks off the start of our wedding season. Becky was a beautiful bride, and Shane was a glowing groom. For real, not just saying it. I even saw Shane dance for the first time, and he even smiled for pictures. Amazing stuff I tell you. I think we all had a blast, to say the least. The Man-Candy was the Best Man, and for having a pulled-out-of-his-ass, impromptu speech, was great. I was honestly very proud of him, although for his profession it requires him to open his fat trap quite often while thinking on his toes. Honey, if you read this, just know that I love your fat trap. Anyways, next up is Sarah's wedding shower and bachelorette party complete with limo bus. I am pumped for the upcoming festivities and hopefully I will be more inspired to not go another 2 months without blogging. Wish me luck.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that.

**Disclaimer** Ok. Well this just sucks. I had a good three long paragraphs typed and then I hit a button and erased everything and somehow my post was not autosaved, so I am starting over from scratch. My mood has definitely changed so I'll see if I can keep up the same energy while I RE-TYPE everything I had just written. *Sigh.*

I know it's been awhile since my last post, but I just haven't felt like anything I've been doing has been worthy of writing about, but I've had a few requests for some new reading material so I will just give a little recap of what's been going on in my world during the last month.

I turned 27 in February and ended up celebrating my birthday for about a week or so which is kind of ironic because this was the first birthday that I was not excited for. I don't know why, but turning 27 just did nothing for me. I mean we all know the fun that comes with turning 21, and my car insurance went down significantly when 25 rolled around. 26 wasn't even bad because that's still close to 25. Somehow I just was not jazzed for 27. Nonetheless, I had a great birthday complete with my very own birthday cake from D, and some fun birthday dinners at Mulligan's, Bar Louie, and Chester Tavern with amazing friends and family. And let me tell you, if you've never had the grilled cheese at Mulligan's you are definitely missing out on a little slice of heaven. You have to get it with bacon and tomato though. Superb. One of the highlights of my birthday was a party at Fox's with all of our friends, complete with a sparkly tiara courtesy of J and L, and a Napoleon Dynamite dance performed by Molls to end the night. Life can not get better.

Also included in last month was a yummy dinner with D at Mitchell's Fish Market for Valentines Day. We had been there before for an anniversary and both enjoyed it, so we decided to make a return visit. Of course it was crowded being VDay and all, but luckily we had reservations and ended up being seated at a booth in the corner, which is my preference. I hate going to those restaurants where they seat you at those teeny tables right between other people and the one side is a bench. Yuck. Check please. We both had great meals. D had a sampler of a bunch of breaded seafood and I had the lobster ravioli and a 4 oz. lobster tail on the side. Does it sound good? Well, it was.

A fantastic February also opened a new chapter for D and me. Our roommate moved out a little over a week ago, so now we have the house all to ourselves. It should definitely bring about some interesting and entertaining events, and yes, much to D's dismay, I will be sure to keep everyone in the loop when these events occur. One cool thing that came with the roomie moving (across the street to be exact) is that I now get to use my creative side and do a little cleaning and redecorating. Last week I finished painting the downstairs bedroom (where we will be relocating to). It's a color called "Serious Gray" but as of now, it looks more like a slate blue color to me. We shall see how it looks once we have some furniture in the room. The downstairs bathroom is next, and I'll be painting it a fun, light bluey teal color called "Calypso", and I have a black and white shower curtain and some other black accents. I think it will look fairly sharp. If I start remembering to break out the camera and take some pictures, maybe I can show you the end results. It's exciting for me to do this, as I've never had a whole house to decorate and paint and do all the fun stuff that girls like to do. It's not technically my house - D owns it, but I do live here, so I've been starting to refer to it as OUR house, because if I don't consider it be my house too, then I technically don't have a home, and that's just a sad thought. Not to mention, I've lived here full time for over a year, so that's got to give me some kind of credit...or something...right?

We also got an elliptical from D's parents at the beginning of Feb so I've been working out pretty consistently for 4 days a week since then. Talk about getting old. Using the elliptical beats the crap out of me. No young chicken here. No sir. It does feel good, but I am more anxious to see some results, and I am not the most patient person that has ever lived so that kind of stinks, but I am still hopeful. I certainly can see a difference in the muscles in my legs or midget sticks region as someone I know might call them, but other than that, I'm not seeing many other changes. We are going to Florida next month though, so that is my current motivation. I do not need to scare all the beach goers by showing off my "stellar" physique in a bathing suit.

That's about all I've got for the moment, but I will surely have some more riveting things to write about as we are entering wedding and baby shower season. I just got my first bridal shower invite, have attended one baby shower so far, and am currently planning a bridal shower and bachelorette party. Hold onto your seat belts peeps. Thanks for listening.

Grocery Store Stalkers..

grocery store, stalker 1comments

Let me begin by saying, I am definitely not trying to offend anyone who thinks the grocery store is a cute or cool way to meet the next love of their life. I more just want to find out if my experience is normal and other people find their grocery store to be a meeting grounds for potential dates.

I can't remember the exact date, but I do know it was last winter, on a Sunday morning. I remember this because I went to the store to get food since we were having people over for the Cavs-Lakers game later that day. I rolled out of bed, brushed my teeth, put my hair in a pony-tail, and threw on a hoodie and tennis shoes, as I normally do on the weekends to run any errands I might have. To give you a better picture for those of you who don't know me, I pretty much looked like a 12 year old boy with messy eyeliner half worn off from the night before. I go to Giant Eagle where I usually shop and am in my own little world, wandering about aimlessly, when I am approached by the GSS (see title). Before I go on let me tell you that I am a fairly nervous and shy person if I don't know you. And ESPECIALLY when I am at the store, I don't want to be bothered. I want to get my food and go. GSS comes up and says, "I just had to come over and say something." I say, "OK." He introduces himself, and shakes my hand. At this point I am about as red as a monkey's ass. I introduce myself. Why you ask? I have not one idea other than A. I am too nice, and B. I didn't know what else to do. He then followed with, "I don't know if you're single or have a boyfriend, or what..." And before he could finish, because I wanted to get the hell out of there, I interjected that yes, I did have a boyfriend, that I live with (had to add that in there). He said he understood, and that he just had to come over and say something, and to have a nice day, or something of that nature, and walked away. Seems harmless, right? Yeah, maybe for a normal person, but not for this girl. I have a lot of anxiety so stupid things, such as this make me super nervous. I was mortified and then proceeded to finish my shopping as fast as possible and pray that I did not pass by this guy again (which thankfully I didn't). Fine. Done. I'm embarassed, but it's over. Yeah, not so much...

Fast forward about a year or so. This past Sunday I decided to go to Whole Foods to get some things for a delicious batch of guacamole that I wanted to make (which turned out fab by the way). I was only there for a short time, just picking up a few things, and surprisingly it wasn't crowded for a Sunday. Oh yeah, I should probably mention that I looked the same as my previous GSS shopping experience. Rolled out of bed. Check. Hoodie. Check. Tennis shoes. Check. 12 year old scrubby boy look-alike. Check. I am not even kidding you, as I am unloading my groceries onto the conveyor belt at the check out, the same guy from Giant Eagle came up to me and said the same thing he said to me at GE the year before. Introduces himself. Check. I don't know if you're single or have a boyfriend. Check. Denied. Check. Well I just had to come over and say something. Check. WTF?!? Same person!! Really? The same lines. Seriously? Does he have a bad memory and not remember horrifying me the first time? Does he do this often and just get all his prey mixed up? I don't get it. Maybe if I were single and looking for a date, I would have thought this was sweet or exciting. This isn't the case though and little does this person know, I am scarred for life and currently looking for a new grocery store. Not really, but seriously contemplating...I would love to hear if this is a regular happening for others out there, and if so, I am going to start an online dating website dedicated to people who like to find love in the frozen food aisle.

All.About.Me

cooking, hoodie, introduction, me, sephora 0 comments

So I've been wanting to start a blog for awhile, but didn't really know what I wanted to write about, or if I even had anything interesting to write about that people would want to read. I am going to give it a shot, so I figured my first post could be a little intro into my life. I am a 26, soon to be 27 year old Clevelander who has lived here all my life much to my dismay. I shouldn't say that really because I do like Cleveland...I just have a hard time coping with our fabulous weather during the winter months. Music is my passion...all sorts...just not country. You will never hear me discuss country music, unless I am commenting on how bad it is. Sorry for you non-haters out there. I can't help it. Maybe someone can convince me otherwise. I would much prefer the sounds of Silversun Pickups or Mudvayne over Britney Spears or Lady Gaga any day, although Just Dance is an amazing song. I do also love me some good dance and techno as well, but I will get more into that at a later date and time.

I've been living with my boyfriend for close to a year and a half - we've been together for almost 2 years. It is my first live-in relationship, so it's definitely been a learning experience for the both of us. I should probably delete that because I just got reamed about how I will NOT be discussing him on here. We will see about that... I graduated from college a year early, six years ago now, and have not done much with my life since then...or at least it seems that way. I interned for an awesome Cleveland morning show while I was in college and that was honestly one of the best times of my life. Now...well...let's just say I am in the credit/finance industry. I won't go into more detail because not only would you not have a clue as to what I do, but I would simultaneously bore you to death. That is not my goal here. I can do that in so many other ways...

I have recently become very interested in cooking...although that is more than likely because I don't live at my parents' house anymore, where I came home to a cooked dinner almost every night. I wouldn't say I am a chef by any means, but I can follow a recipe with the best of them. Other than that I am usually up for just about anything (including Nikki Dance Parties), and I would much rather dress in a hoodie and tennis shoes any day over heels. But I am not exactly a tom-boy either. I love Sephora and all beauty products like none other... So now that I have rambled on and on and I still don't know what the focus of this thing will be, I am going to wrap it up. Thanks Mol for pushing me, and I definitely liked La Femme Nikita as a title. Unfortunately I love Anchorman a ton. Until next time...
